COMEDI
COMEDI (COpernicus Marine services with Enhanced Data assimilation and improved Interoperability) is a Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action that aims to modernize ocean forecasting systems by enhancing data assimilation practices across Copernicus Marine centres.
The project implements multiscale, non-Gaussian, and Artificial Intelligence approaches to advance research capabilities and enable assimilation of new satellite observations from Sentinel and Copernicus systems.
COMEDI brings together ten institutions across Norway, France, Belgium, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Germany — including Mercator Ocean, ECMWF, Met Office, and Alfred Wegener Institute — coordinated by the Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center (NERSC).
